HAIL Coaching Program & Coaching Seminar
The annual HAIL Coaching Seminar is designed to offer attendees a chance to further develop their coaching skills through a series of classroom sessions, seminars and lectures featuring high profile presenters. These sessions provide education in various areas of coaching and team management. This years Seminar will run in cooperation with the 2010 NIHA Canada Men’s National Team Tryouts, giving coaches a unique opportunity to see the highest level players in the country, and will provide education on various player evaluation and selection techniques. There will also be interaction with the Team Canada Staff. Hockey Alberta Inline will also be launching additional coaching tools, free to all coaches in 2010.
NIHA Coaching 101 and Coach Certification
In the winter of 2010 NIHA Canada and its provincial branches will begin to roll out the new Inline Coach Certification program. The first stage of this program will be Inline 101. Inline 101 will be a free downloadable 30-45 minute module. This module will educate coaches and parents on the intricacies of inline hockey. Certification will be gained through the completion of an online quiz. After completion, each coach will receive a certification card. Inline 101 will be mandatory in 2010 for those participating in the Team Alberta program and will be mandatory for all coaches nation wide in 2011. Inline 101 will remain free, and following Inline 101 NIHA will continue to launch further coaching clinics.
